I am a biologist with a special interest in science communication and art.

I earned my PhD in Biological Sciences from Columbia University, studying cell competition in the developing wings of the fruit fly. Then I moved to Paris, for a postdoctoral fellowship at the Curie Institute, focusing on how organs take their particular shapes during development.

Throughout all of this, I have always been drawing. As a student, I used to fill my notebooks with drawings during class. As a researcher, I continued to sketch during lab meetings and seminars. I finally decided to take this to a professional level, making illustrations for scientific publications, and for science communication at large.

I use both on paper and digital drawing techniques, depending on the needs of each scientific illustration project, and work in close collaboration with researchers to find the best way to visualise their science. While I greatly enjoy learning about new research to make illustrations for scientific publications, I have a particular interest for science popularisation and teaching and love working on illustration projects aiming to communicate science to the general public.
